The new Black Sabbath album, 13, finally came out last week. And with it, the band released the video for the new song “End of the Beginning” which was featured on an episode of CSI last month (obviously, not all 8 minutes of it were on the show, but they filmed the full song for the video). They also put out the official video for the song we got a couple of months ago, “God is Dead?”, which you can watch below. The album debuted at #1 in Britain…Sabbath’s first #1 album there since “Paranoid” in 1970! I guess it happens every 43 years, so the next #1 for them will be in 2056!!!
Loving yourself is a 100% natural. However, a lecture from your mother, LIKE THIS, is definitley not.
STJ SAYS, “JUST REMEMBER TO HAVE A BLAST!!”
David “Deacon” Jones passed away from natural causes last night here in So Cal at the age of 74. He was credited for terming “sack” because of the manor in which he took out quarterbacks. Jones was a member of the L.A. Rams Fearsome Foursome from 1961 to 1971. After his kick-ass football career you may have seen him on TV or in the movies as he dabbled at acting. Jean Stapleton, ¬†who played Edith Bunker,¬†Archie Bunker’s better half ¬†in the 1970′s comedy “All in the Family,”¬†has died.
She was 90 years old, a life well lived‚Ķ. which is more than you can say for the 213 years STU has put in, but we think he’s going to turn it around before he hits 300
RIP JEAN STAPELTON
Sammy Hagar returned to his hometown of Fontana recently to be honored by the city as part of their 100th anniversary celebration. In addition to serving as the Honorary Grand Marshalof the 2013 Fontana Days Parade, the town presented the ‚ÄúRed Rocker‚ÄĚ with a sign for Hagar Way, a new street dedicated to their hometown hero.
After leading the parade on a float with his family by his side, Sammy was given the street sign that read ‚ÄėHagar Way.‚Äô Although no mention of a speed limit was made, judging by the namesake we can only assume that speeds in excess of 55 are highly encouraged, although perhaps not legal.
Hagar seemed genuinely touched by the gesture. After being given the sign he addressed the crowd, saying, ‚ÄúSomething about in your hometown having a street named after you, that warms my heart. This is awesome. This is one of the favorite things that has been done for me in my whole career.‚ÄĚ He also threw some love out to his brother, joking, ‚ÄúOnly problem is I know my brother‚Äôs going to go around saying it‚Äôs his name too.‚ÄĚ
During the celebration Hagar was asked by the Fontana Herald how it felt to be a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to which the thankful Hagar replied, ‚ÄúIt‚Äôs not as exciting as being the grand marshal of Fontana Days for the 100th anniversary of Fontana, my hometown!‚ÄĚ
On the musical front, Sammy will also be heading out on his ‚ÄėFour Decades of Rock‚Äô tour kicking off at the beginning of June and dates through early September. No So Cal dates yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do!
