September 1, 2023 @ 8:00 am - March 23, 2025 @ 5:00 pm

The SoCal nonprofit Chrysalis has launched in the Inland Empire and is a great resource to help you find a transitional job. The goal is that the paid job will help you get back on your feet, while teaching hard and soft skills that will be instrumental at your next job.

Chrysalis helps people navigating barriers to the workforce prepare for, find, and keep jobs by offering a job-readiness program, individualized supportive services, and paid transitional employment. This is the first time that Chrysalis is leading as an Employment Social Enterprise in a new geography through its Chrysalis Roads program.

Made possible through Clean California funding to the Butte County Office of Education’s Back to Work program, Roads employs clients on active supervision in freeway maintenance jobs. Launched in 2016, the program has expanded from Los Angeles and Orange County into San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Chrysalis Roads crew in this area (District 8) spans the largest district in California, from up to Barstow in the north, Elsinore in the south, and Banning in the east.

Chrysalis is also a great hiring tool for local employers.

·      Chrysalis now has a total of 9 Inland Empire Roads crews. 7 crews were launched in April/May 2022 and 2 more in the last few months.

·      Each crew can employ up to 8 people at a time.

·      Currently, there are up to 70 clients working transitional jobs on crews (16 people in the Victorville area and 54 in the Colton area).

·      25 clients have secured outside employment.

·      143 clients have worked for Roads IE.
